Jeep 2014 Lineup: Jeep continues riding the waves of success with its best-selling fleet of SUVs, the carmaker’s sole focus. For 2014, a number of key updates are added to up the ante on what already are the most popular SUVs in the world. Across the board, front-seat side airbags have been added as standard equipment for all models. The flagship Grand Cherokee receives a new 3.0-liter V6 engine with optional turbo-diesel, an eight-speed transmission and updates to the technology features.
Meanwhile, the Cherokee is overhauled with a new body style, a more amenity-rich interior and a base 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 184 hp and 171 pound-feet of torque, upgradable to a 3.2-liter V6 that makes 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque. The Compass gets a new six-speed automatic transmission, which replaces the CTV on most trim levels, and a flashy 6.5” touchscreen console in the Limited trim. The Patriot also gets a new six-speed transmission, and the Wrangler and Wrangler Limited remain relatively unchanged.
