One of the original production gasoline/electric hybrid vehicle nameplates in North America, the 2014 Honda Insight remains a high efficiency five-door hatchback. Advertised as the more affordable hybrid sold in the United States, the 2014 Honda Insight is powered by a combination of a gasoline burning 1.3 liter I-VTEC four-cylinder engine and a 10-kilowatt electric motor called the Integrated Motor Assist system. Generating a combined 98 horsepower, the 2014 Honda Insight’s power train, that also features a continuously variable transmission, allows exceptional fuel consumption of 41 miles per gallon city and 44 miles per gallon highway. In base trim, the 2014 Honda Insight arrives with standard power windows, two-speaker audio system and a full array of safety features that includes side curtain airbags. An upgraded stereo system and cruise control are highlights added to the 2014 Honda Insight LX trim level. The top-tiered 2014 Honda Insight EX is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity and offers an optional satellite-based navigation system. Cargo space inside the 2014 Honda Insight is rated at 15.9 cubic feet or 31.5 cubic feet when the rear seats have been folded down.
