The 2014 Honda Fit EV is a purely electric vehicle available on a limited basis. The Fit EV is powered by a 92kW electric motor that produces 123 hp (in sport mode) and 189 lb-ft of torque. FWD is mated to a 1-speed automatic transmission to enable 132 city and 105 MPGe. Electric doesn't mean inconvenient thanks to quick charging; the battery can be recharged in as little as 3 hours when using a 240-volt circuit. The Fit EV is a brand-new electric car from Honda. It's based heavily on the standard Fit subcompact, but in place of a gasoline engine, is a fully electric drivetrain. Honda has previously sold alternative fuel vehicles in limited markets and the Fit EV follows in this tradition with sales slated to start this coming year in Oregon and California.
