Revamped for 2013, the Nissan Pathfinder is a full-size SUV with seating for seven and a towing capacity of 7,000 lbs. All Pathfinder trim levels are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 hp. The Pathfinder features shift-on-the-fly which allows the driver to transition between 2WD and 4WD. A 2-speed Xtronic CVT transmission enables fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated 20 mpg city to 26 mpg highway. Features include navigation, fold-flat third row seating, dual-zone climate control, hands-free phone system, 9.3 GB hard drive, entertainment system, and rear-view monitor. Safety is comprised of six standard airbags, vehicle dynamic control (VDC), antilock braking (ABS), active brake limited slip, and electronic brake force distribution (EBD). The Pathfinder is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.Read more Read less
The Pathfinder is all new for 2013, featuring an attractive and modern redesign, seating for seven and a CVT gearbox. 2013's sheetmetal is all new and the aerodynamic shape helps the Pathfinder achieve good mileage numbers for such a large vehicle. With a bigger interior than last year's model, the new Pathfinder becomes less like a truck and more like a comfortable crossover.
Good fuel economy; spacious interior; 5000lb towing capacity; third row seating; competitive pricing
The Pathfinder remains a very good value for the money. Between its seating capacity and fuel economy the Pathfinder makes a good argument for its value. However Nissan have even managed to bring the price down from last year. While previous Pathfinders competed with truck like SUVs like the Toyota 4Runner, the 2013 Pathfinder aims instead to compete more closely with crossover vehicles such as the Toyota Highlander, bringing more space and refinement to the market at a slight cost to seldom used off-road capabilities.
