New for 2013, the Subaru Outback is a mid-size crossover that boasts Variable Torque Distribution AWD. Engine options consist of a standard DOHC 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 173 hp and an optional 3.6-liter H6 engine that produces 256 hp. The base engine can be paired with a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT, while the upgraded engine can only be paired with a 5-speed adaptive electronic automatic transmission. Fuel mileage for the base model is an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Features include 10-way adjustable power driver's seat, heated front seats, moonroof, remote engine starter, 9-speaker audio system and navigation. Safety is comprised of dual-stage deployment front/passenger airbags, side-curtain airbags, rollover sensor, rear-vision camera, vehicle dynamics control (VDC), traction control (TCS) and anti-lock braking (ABS).
