Unchanged for 2013, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class is a five passenger luxury SUV available in a diesel variant. The base ML350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the BlueTec trim level grants the driver a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine that produces 240 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque (AMG variants are equipped with up to 550 hp). After its redesign last year, Mercedes-Benz has continued to improve on the M-Class. This year a rear-wheel-drive model has been added to the lineup as has an off road package which promises to increase the capabilities of the already rock-solid SUV. Safety has been improved with the addition of a collision prevention system, while optional massaging seats round out the notable changes for 2013.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is one of the most refined, yet safest and most comfortable luxury SUVs available. It's also surprisingly fuel-efficient--especially in ML350 BlueTEC diesel guise. The M-Class' interior has much-improved materials and detailing compared to the previous version, and it's now one of the most lavish cabins in its class. An off-road package allows several different modes for different types of trail driving is available and allows for ground clearance of up to 11.2 inches and a water-fording depth of 23.6 inches. The package also includes a locking center differential and a two speed transfer case.
