2013 model year changes

For 2012, the Lincoln MKT gets a new Continuously Controlled Damping, a computer-controlled system that can adjust the firmness of the suspension 20 times per second and enables the Lincoln MKT to corner better and also have a smoother ride. Also new is Lincoln Drive Control, a system that lets the driver tune the suspension, steering, and other vehicle responses; and the Lincoln MKT gets a quicker steering ratio. The standard engine in the Lincoln MKT gets a 10-percent increase in horsepower for 2013, while its highway fuel efficiency actually goes up by one. Brakes have also been upgraded to match the extra engine power. The MyLincoln Touch interface has also been added to the Lincoln MKT's instrument panel, while second-row passengers get new inflatable seatbelts. Also, several new active-safety features add to the Lincoln MKT's family appeal and, for the first time, the Lincoln MKT is offered in a Town Car Livery and Limousine Edition for 2013.

Special features for 2013

The 2013 Lincoln MKT is a 3-row crossover utility vehicle, aimed at those who want a high level of luxury, as well as plenty of active safety and infotainment technology. According to Lincoln, the Lincoln MKT has more standard horsepower than the Audi Q7 and Acura MDX, while returning significantly better mileage than both. The Lincoln MKT appeals to a wide range of family shoppers, including some who are looking for more of a performance feel, as well as others who are merely looking for a more luxurious minivan substitute, so with the new Continuously Controlled Damping and Drive Control systems introduced this year, drivers should be able to simply 'tune in' the attitude they want--Normal, Comfort or Sport. For those who plan to use all three rows, the Lincoln MKT remains one of the better picks on the market, with generous space for adults in the front two rows and a third row that even adults can access (and be okay with) for a trip across town.
New for 2013, the Lincoln MKT is a full-size luxury crossover utility vehicle with seating for seven. The base MKT, equipped with FWD, is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 303 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. For upgraded performance Lincoln offers an optional 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 twin-turbocharged engine, equipped with AWD, that produces 365 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with the same SelectShift™ 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle activation. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 16 mpg city to 25 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include fixed-glass vista roof, keyless entry, power liftgate, active park assist, HID headlamps, capless fuel filler, leather seats, voice-activated navigation, THX® surround audio system, rear view camera, HD radio, cooled seats, push button start, and ambient lighting. Safety is comprised of six airbags, electronic stability enhancement system, electric power assist steering, anti-lock braking, and collision warning. The MKT is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
