Largely unchanged for 2013, the Kia Forte 5-door is a hatchback powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 156 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. For increased performance, Kia offers an optional 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that yields 173 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions consist solely of a 6-speed automatic. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 23 mpg city to 36 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include 17-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, power sunroof with tilt, 6-speaker audio system, navigation system, rear camera display, hands-free phone capabilities, paddle shifters, leather trim, and push-button start. Safety is comprised of advanced airbags, brake assist (BA), anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control (TCS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS).
