2013 model year changes

The redesigned XK features new front and rear styling. Slimmer headlights incorporating LEDs replace the old units, while a new front grill significantly cleans up the look of the car while also keeping it recognizably a Jaguar. Five new colors have been added and a couple of new option packs are also available for increased customization. The XKR-S has also been introduced as an ultra-high performance model, positioned above the XKR. It is the most powerful road car Jaguar has ever built and promises to take driving excitement to another level.

The Jaguar XK is a personal luxury coupe or convertible, offering up lots of comfort with a solid dose of high performance. The Jaguar XK undercuts the price of the Mercedes SL, and is significantly sportier than the base BMW 6 series. The 2013 Jaguar XK is a performance-oriented luxury grand tourer available in coupe and soft-top convertible trim levels. The base XK is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the XKR model grants the driver a supercharged version of the base engine, producing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. For even greater performance Jaguar offers a XKR-S model, tuning the performance of the supercharged V8 to yield 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. All models utilize a front engine-RWD layout and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 15 mpg city to 24 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include bi-function HID xenon headlamps, 20-inch wheels, heated exterior mirrors with auto-dimming electrochromic glass, front/rear parking sensors, steering-wheel mounted controls, hands-free phone capabilities, and touch-screen navigation. Safety is comprised of rollover protection, emergency brake assist (EBA), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control (TCS), dynamic stability control (DSC), cornering brake control, advanced airbags, and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS).
