All new for 2012, the MINI Cooper Roadster is a compact roadster offered in standard, S trim, and John Cooper Works trim levels. The standard FWD Cooper Roadster is powered by the MINI 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 121 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque while the Cooper Roadster S comes equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 181 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. For even more performance drivers can upgrade to the John Cooper Works trim that boosts power to 208 hp. A 6-speed manual comes standard but drivers also have the choice of an optional 6-speed automatic. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 25 mpg city to 35 mpg highway, depending on engine selection.
