Ride quality and back-seat comfort are also very good for the class. Meanwhile the LINCOLN MKZ Hybrid stands out for having the highest gas mileage of any luxury sedan sold in the U.S.--41 mpg city, 36 highway. Also, unlike other luxury sedans, neither version of the LINCOLN MKZ has a requirement for premium gasoline.

The 2012 Lincoln MKZ is a mid-size entry-level luxury sedan available with a standard V6 engine or optional 4-cylinder hybrid. The standard FWD and optional AWD MKZ are both powered by the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 263 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 17 mpg city to 27 mpg highway, depending on transmission selection. For superior fuel economy Lincoln offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine hybrid engine, paired with a CVT transmission, that achieves an EPA estimated 41 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
