Featuring a sharper look in 2012, the Honda Civic Coupe is given what is called a "streamlined” outer appearance. Trim level choices continue to be robust on the 2012 Honda Civic Coupe with DX, LX, EX, EX-L and Si models available. On the 2012 Civic Coupe DX, standard features of the entry-level trim includes tilt/telescoping steering column, power windows, Maintenance Minder system and Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control. LX models of the 2012 Honda Civic Coupe add a 6-speaker MP3-playback compatible stereo system as well as air conditioning. Bluetooth connectivity and a premium audio system is included on the 2012 Honda EX with leather, and heated seats found on the EX-L model. Powered by a 1.8 liter inline 4-cylinder engine producing 140 horsepower matched with either a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission, fuel economy has risen on the 2012 Civic Coupe. Top gasoline mileage with a 5-speed automatic gearbox averages at 32 miles per gallon. With a 201 horsepower, 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine, the 2012 Honda Civic Coupe Si delivers a more performance-oriented feel through a close ratio 6-speed manual and a limited-slip differential.

2012 model year changes View changes +

The Civic has been extensively redesigned this year; appearance-wise, it gets a new, more finely detailed evolution of last year's Civic design as well as a reconfigured interior. While the Civic is about the same size, overall, as the previous model, Honda has tapped into more interior space with new seats and door panels along with new instrument panel. Honda has worked on the Civic's drivetrain to improve it in a number of ways. The new Civic HF aims to provide improved efficiency at an affordable price. Hybrid models get a slightly larger engine this year--1.5 liters--as well as an upgraded electric motor. The Civic's powerplant lineup has been completely redesigned, with a reengineered version of the 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine powering most of the lineup and a new 2.4L engine powering the Si. The new Civic also gets extensively updated infotainment systems--including a revised navigation system with voice recognition and live traffic updates, as well as available Bluetooth hands-free interface and a new Multi-Information Display system.

Special features for 2012 View special features +

For decades the Civic has offered one of the best compact-car picks for those who want to keep their ownership costs low and plan to keep their cars a long time. The Civic is also one of the roomiest small sedans, with even better ride comfort and interior refinement this year. The top EX-L can still be appointed with the works--including a navigation system and full leather upholstery--making it feel more like a compact luxury sedan than an affordable commuter.
