A sub-compact FWD vehicle available in five door hatchback and sedan trim levels, the all new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is available with two different engines; a standard 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp/125 lb-ft of torque and an optional 1.4-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 138 hp/148 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is paired with a 5-speed manual while the optional engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
