2012 model year changes

Following a thorough redesign in 2010, the Chevrolet Equinox hits 2012 with no real changes, aside from a few trim updates. Cyber Gray Metallic and Cardinal Red Metallic have been dropped from the list of available colors, but new chrome 18-inch wheels are now available. Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system has also been added. New standard features include Bluetooth, rear-view camera, collision warning and lane departure warning.

Special features for 2012

Starting at under $23,000, the 2012 Chevy Equinox is one of the most affordable crossover vehicles in its class, rivaling Honda's CR-V and the Toyota RAV4. The interior features a dual-cockpit design, ice-blue ambient lighting and sophisticated, classy appearance touches that makes it look much more expensive than it is.
The 2012 Chevrolet Equinox ranges in three trim level choices. On the entry level LS trim model, the 2012 Equinox comes standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, 60/40 split rear seat and XM satellite radio. Bluetooth connectivity and premium cloth seating are added to the mid-level 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LT. For the top-level 2012 Equinox LTZ model features standard perforated leather seating, ultrasonic rear parking assist and chrome pieces on the exterior as well as the interior. Added to the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, a new Chevy Mylink in-car entertainment system will be available on the crossover vehicle. Allowing occupants to listen to internet radio from Pandora and Stitcher SmartRadio, Chevy MyLink is described as a new level of wireless connectivity. Powerplant choices for the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox consist of a standard 182 horsepower, direct-injected 2.4 liter inline-4 engine. Optional on the 2012 Equinox LT and LTZ, a 3-liter V-6 generating 264 horsepower can also be equipped on the vehicle. Both engines are connected to a 6-speed automatic and feature the option of front-wheel or all-wheel drive systems. Fuel economy averages at 26 miles per gallon with a front-wheel drive four-cylinder 2012 Equinox while the all-wheel drive V-6 still produces 20 miles per gallon.
