Xenon headlamps, Dynamic Cruise Control, 10-way power adjustable front seats and a 10-speaker audio system are highlights for the 2012 BMW X5. Satellite radio and a Convenience Package including a panoramic moon roof are optional. Undergoing a power plant overall in 2011, the 2012 BMW X5 benefits with a pair of potent turbocharged gasoline power plants. The 2012 BMW X5 xDrive35i is equipped with a 3-liter inline-6 engine. Pumping out 300 horsepower, the high technology engine features direct injection, Valvetronic and Double-VANOS for fuel economy of 16 miles per gallon city and 23 miles per gallon highway. On the 2012 X5 xDrive50i model, a twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter engine carries the BMW sport utility vehicle with 400 horsepower. Both gasoline engines found on the 2012 BMW X5 are mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. An option to gasoline power, the BMW X5 engine line-up includes a 3-liter turbodiesel 6-cylinder generating 265 horsepower and 425 pounds-feet of torque, the diesel-powered luxury vehicle offers up to 26 miles per gallon in highway furl economy.
