Featuring a new design and four engine choices, one of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta's most redeeming qualities is a focus on lower retail pricing. The Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen will remain available in the United States based on the previous Jetta platform. Along with the Jetta, the 2011 model year also results in an upgraded Volkswagen crossover utility vehicle. Reverting back to being known simply as the Touareg, Volkswagen's new previous crossover vehicle grows slightly in overall length. Offering gasoline and TDI versions, the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg will also come in a hybrid variation. The Volkswagen Routan gains Chrysler Pentastar V-6 engine replacing both 3.8-liter and 4.0-liter powerplants found on the previous versions of the minivan. The Wolfsburg version of the Volkswagen Tiguan crossover has been dropped for 2011. The Volkswagen Passat skips the 2011 model year ahead of a completely new version of the sedan set to launch for 2012.
