2011 Volkswagen Golf Values

The 2011 Volkswagen Golf is a compact hatchback available in three-door and five-door trim levels. The Golf is available with two different engines; a 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine that produces 170 hp and a 2.0-liter TDI® Clean Diesel engine that produces 140 hp. Both engines are available with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission, however the standard engine is paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission while the diesel engine is paired with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. Fuel mileage is an EPA estimated 23 mpg city/33 mpg highway for the standard engine and 30 mpg city/41 mpg highway for the diesel variant. Options include hands-free phone capability, climate control with pollen filter, touch-screen navigation system, touch-screen stereo and heated front seats. Safety is comprised of crash-optimized front end, electronic stability control, Intelligent Crash Response, six airbags with side curtain protection, hydraulic brake assist and anti-lock braking. The Golf is backed by a 3-year/30,000-mile warranty.

After a brief hiatus, the popular Golf returned to Volkswagen's lineup in 2010, replacing the Rabbit as VW's compact hatchback. Few changes have been made for 2011. It's again available in both 2- and 4-door models, with power coming from either a 2.5L inline-5 cylinder or a 2.0L turbo direct-injection diesel (TDI). The 2.5L 2-door can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic with Tiptronic, while the 4-door version is only available with the automatic.

The popular Golf hatchback was completely redesigned in 2010. For 2011, it again packs a load of standard features in a pleasing cabin. The TDI offers an impressive EPA estimated 30 mpg in the city, 42 mpg on the highway.
