The 2011 Volkswagen Golf is a compact hatchback available in three-door and five-door trim levels. The Golf is available with two different engines; a 2.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine that produces 170 hp and a 2.0-liter TDI® Clean Diesel engine that produces 140 hp. Both engines are available with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission, however the standard engine is paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission while the diesel engine is paired with a standard 6-speed manual transmission.
