The 2011 Volkswagen GTI is a FWD performance compact hatchback available in three-door and five-door trim levels. The GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. Transmissions consists of a base 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed DSG® automatic transmission. Fuel mileage is an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. A cross differential system and track tuned suspension enable the GTI to handle light and grip corners. Options include bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, keyless access with push button start, leather seats, navigation system, touch-screen stereo and hands-free phone capability. Safety is comprised electronic stability control, Intelligent Crash Response, six airbags with side curtain protection, anti-lock braking system and hydraulic brake assist.
