With a stylish new design inside and out along with all-new powertrains and slightly larger all around, the Kia Optima is all-new and completely redesigned for 2011. Later in the model year, the Kia Optima lineup will be joined by a new Optima Turbo model, as well as a new Optima Hybrid. The latter will be Kia's first-ever hybrid.

Special features for 2011

Altogether, the Optima is one of the sportiest-feeling mid-size sedans in its base configuration, while the Turbo model promises the acceleration and responsiveness of rival V6 models but with true 4-cylinder fuel economy--22 mpg city and 34 highway, by EPA estimates. It fits Kia's tradition of packing more features and value into their vehicles at the same price as lesser-equipped rival models while actually forging a beautiful new design direction. Also, resale value for the new Optima is looking strong. ALG, which supplies residual value data to the auto industry, has significantly raised its residuals for the 2011 Optima compared to last year's model--indicating confidence that the new Optima will be worth much more come trade-in time. Kia also still has one of the strongest warranties in the business, with ten years or 100,000 miles for powertrain and a 5-year, 60,000-mile vehicle warranty and roadside assistance.
Given a full-scale revamp, the 2011 Kia Optima four-door sedan wears a considerably sportier look riding an inch lower than its predecessor. Coming in LX, EX and SX trim levels, the 2011 Kia Optima is immediately fitted with a collection of standard equipment. On the 2011 Kia Optima LX, air conditioning, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cooling glove box and a keyless entry system is included at no cost. Dual zone climate control, HomeLink and leather seat trim is added to the 2011 Optima EX model. Featuring sports-oriented touches including alloy pedals, rear-lip spoiler and paddle shifters, the 2011 Kia Optima SX resides as a top-trimmed vehicle. On 2011 Optima LX and EX sedans, a 2.4 liter, 200 horsepower engine is included with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Available on the Optima EX and standard for the SX model, a turbocharged 2-liter engine boasts 274 horsepower while achieving 26 miles per gallon in average fuel economy. Producing considerably higher horsepower numbers over the 2010 car the new sedan succeeds, a hybrid powerplant is the most notable inclusion for the 2011 Kia Optima estimated to produce fuel economy within the 38 mile per gallon range.
