With the introduction of a new flagship sedan for 2011, Jaguar has greatly redefined itself as a modern luxury car builder. Dismissing almost all the styling traits used to create previous XJ models, the 2011 redesign of the Jaguar XJ sedan projects a new combination of grace and performance. A well-equipped luxury sedan, 2011 XJ is offered in three trim levels and two wheelbase lengths. Jaguar's aging 4.2-liter V-8 has officially been retired for 2011 as the XF sedan has adopted the naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 as the base engine contributing to an 85 extra horsepower (totaling 385 horsepower). In commemoration of Jaguar's 75th anniversary, a special version of the XKR coupe has been prepared for 2011. Painted Ultimate Black with an interior featuring Piano Black wood veneer, only 175 examples of the Jaguar XKR175 will be built.
