Introduced in 2003 and redesigned in 2009, the 2011 Honda Pilot continues as Honda's largest crossover utility with family friendly features and plenty of hauling and towing capability. Built in Honda's Lincoln, Alabama factory, this unit body 4-door 8-passenger CUV can be optioned with many different trim levels ranging from entry level LX up to the top of the line Touring. All are motivated by a 3.5-liter 250-hp i-VTEC V6 with a 5-speed automatic powering front or all-wheel drive. An integrated Class III trailer hitch helps the Pilot tow 4500-lbs while achieving up to 17/23 mpg city/hwy. For 2011, a Satellite-Linked Navigation system is available on midrange EX-L trim levels along with Bluetooth, tri-zone climate controls, optional rear seat DVD entertainment, leather, and a rearview camera. A 5-year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and comprehensive safety features help make the Pilot a practical family hauler with the capabilities of larger SUVs. Competitors in this segment are Toyota Highlander, GMC Acadia, and Nissan Pathfinder.
