New 2011 Ford Transit Connect Cost of Ownership

A European-inspired work van which has quickly become a big hit for North American commercial businesses, the 2011 Ford Connect is highly versatile with up to 135 cubic feet of cargo space at disposal. Maintaining a slim trim line of only a XL and XLT, the 2011 Transit Connect van enters the model year with minimal changes. XL-trimmed Transit Connect vans are packaged with many basic items but a rear-view camera, air conditioning and a 12-volt electrical outlet is included on the model. 2011 Ford Transit Connect XLT adds a power convenience package, a CD player/stereo system and cruise control. Optional Ford Work Solutions features like Tool Link, Crew Chief as well as an in-dash touchscreen computer are available on both trim levels. 2011 Ford Transit Connect XL and XLT share a standard 2-liter, inline-4 engine that generates 136 horsepower. Fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon city and 26 miles per gallon highway is achieved. While the diesel engine option popular in Europe is still not available on the 2011 Ford Transit Connect sold in the United States, natural gas and liquid propane versions can be special ordered. 2011 is also the year Ford rolls out a 300-volt, 134 horsepower electric-powered Transit Connect in limited quantities.
