With few changes in 2011, the Ford Escape and the Escape Hybrid holds onto the styling and mechanics gained through the compact sport utility's 2007 redesign. Gasoline-only Escapes are either powered by a four-cylinder Duratec engine or an optional six-cylinder 3-liter power plant providing a potent 230 horsepower. The 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid continues to combine a 2.5 liter inline-four engine with an electric motor to produce a total 177 horsepower while providing 29 miles per gallon in combined fuel economy. Gasoline-only versions of the Escape consists of XLS, XLT and Limited trim varieties. Hybrid powertrain edition of the 2011 Ford Escape comes in either a base trim or a Limited model.
