2011 model year changes

Although the Dodge Nitro remains mechanically unchanged, all Nitro models get a series of appearance upgrades for 2011. Large 20-inch wheels are now standard across the entire model line, bringing an even more aggressive appearance. On the inside, seat materials have been upgraded. Nitro "Shock" models include new leather seats with colored stitching, along with a sunroof and all Nitro models include a monochromatic interior. A new Nitro Heat 4.0 Lifestyle Package is added to the lineup, for 2011, including the more powerful engine, the UConnect Bluetooth phone interface and an upgraded sound system. Across all Nitro models, Bright White Clear Coat, Blackberry Pearl Coat, Toxic Orange and Redline Two Coat Pearl join the lineup of exterior hues.

Powered by one of two six-cylinder engines each offered as a two or four-wheel drive, 2011 Dodge Nitro model line consists of the Heat, Detonator and Shock trim levels. The entry-level Dodge Nitro Heat comes equipped with a 210 horsepower 3.7 liter V-6 choice standard alongside power door locks, air conditioning and SIRIUS satellite radio. 2011 Dodge Nitro Detonator and Shock trim levels introduces a HomeLink Universal transceiver, 6-way power driver seat and ParkSense rear park assist system to a heftier standard feature package. The top-two trim models also contribute a pushy 4-liter V-6 power plant generating 260 horsepower. For 2011, buyers can upgrade the Nitro Heat with the 4-liter engine creating the Heat 4.0 which adds Uconnect Phone and an 8-speaker stereo.
