Introduced in 2009, the 2011 BMW X6 M is a cross between a sport coupe and an SUV. The X6 M features a 555-hp 4.4-liter V8 with twin-turbocharging, a first for any M division vehicle. Putting the power to the ground is a 6-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission linked to an xDrive all-wheel drive system. For 2011, the 35i is outfitted with a new single-turbo, 6-cylinder engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. This engine is the same that is available for the BMW 335is, 740i and 740iL. All but the hybrid X6 now come with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid powertrain utilizes a 7-speed automatic.
