2010 model year changes

For 2010, the XC60 is all new. Standard features include a 281-horsepower turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission. LED taillights are used, and Volvo's new City accident avoidance system is also standard, which uses the brakes to automatically stop the car when an imminent rear-end collision is detected. Two new colors are available: Lime Grass Green Pearl and Terra Bronze Pearl. Each can be had with Volvo's new unique "off black" leather interior with matching accents.

Special features for 2010

The all-new XC60 brings Volvo's legendary safety to the small SUV segment. It shares basic design elements with the larger V70 and XC70 station wagons. With the capacity to seat five, it's well suited for small families looking for more power, safety, and more luxurious features than those offered in the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V.
All new for this year, the 2010 Volvo XC60 crossover slots below the larger XC90 and the stately XC70 wagon. The unibody XC60 is available with a 3.2-liter 235 hp I6 with FWD or AWD, optional is a 3.0-liter 281 hp Turbo I6 with AWD only, both linked to a 6-speed Geartronic automatic. With all of this performance the XC60 is still capable of up to 18/27 mpg city/hwy carrying 5 passengers and gear. In true Swedish tradition, a handsome leather interior is complimented by class leading safety features including Volvo's new City Safety System. Laser sensors with automatic brake assist help to avoid causing a rear end collision below 19 mph. With sporty styling, excellent comfort, and ever present safety, the XC60 is sure to make a splash competing with crossover rivals Acura RDX and BMW X3.
