Restyled inside and out, the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer is a five-passenger car available as a sedan or in the all-new wagon bodystyle referred to as a Sportback. Though the design and features of the Lancer remain mostly unchanged for 2010, there are two big additions to the overall lineup. First, the rally-ready Evolution is back after a 1-year hiatus in two trim levels. Second, the much-anticipated Sportback body style has reached U.S. shores in GTS and Ralliart editions.

At the base level, the Lancer packs plenty of fun and safety features into a sub-$15,000 package. While the race-derived Evolution can get a bit pricey, it also features 300 hp and standard all-wheel drive for maximum performance. The base model returns great fuel economy, achieving 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
