A sporty mid-size crossover SUV, the five-passenger 2010 Infiniti FX35 boasts a sporty V6 engine and bold exterior styling. The 3.5L V6 found under the hood produces 303 hp and is paired with a slick seven-speed automatic transmission that matches the revs on downshifts. This produces a smoother yet also sportier driving experience. The FX35 is available with RWD or AWD, and both versions come very well equipped. New for 2010 is the inclusion of Bluetooth and a USB port on the standard features list.Read more Read less
Last year the FX was completely redesigned with a more aggressive look, new tech features and various other improvements. The V6 powered version remained called the FX35 and the V8 version gained a larger 5.0-liter engine and the FX50 designation. For 2010, the FX is carried over with no major changes, but there's another boost in tech content. All FX models now get a standard Bluetooth hands-free calling interface, plus a USB port and iPod interface for the audio system. Versions without the navigation system but with the Bose Premium Audio system get a Music Box hard drive, while navigation system versions get Bluetooth Streaming Audio plus the new XM NavWeather service and Zagat restaurant ratings.
Sport-sedan performance; excellent handling; lavish interior appointments; high-tech safety and convenience options
The FX really looks like no other utility vehicle. With an aggressive, hunkered-down silhouette, curvy sheet metal and big, flashy wheel designs, plus styling cues that hint of the racetrack instead of muddy trails, the Infiniti FX has an exterior style that exudes performance. Inside, the FX's cabin feels very classy, styled and appointed more like a luxury sports car than anything else in the utility class. On-road performance is the FX's reason for being; it offers the driving thrills of a sport sedan with more versatility. While some cargo space falls victim to the rakish rear roofline, most FX shoppers won't mind. Tech features are the FX's other major strength. Several features like the lane-departure system, collision warning system, the Around View Monitor, and Active Steer are likely to help avoid accidents, adding to the FX's already strong safety record.
