The German luxury car brand drives into 2010 with some bold, new ideas. A pair of BMW gasoline/electric hybrid models (the ActiveHybrid 7 and ActiveHybrid X6) debuts for 2011 pledging to deliver improved fuel economy while also providing strong performance. Outright power is also a focus as BMW has extended their performance-themed M enhancements to their larger premium crossovers. The 2010 model year X5 M and X6 M gain many of the styling and handling refinements previously reserved for BMW cars. Both models receive engine performance from a 555-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8. A radical, sporty hatchback-like luxury vehicle, the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo features a dynamic-looking exterior and is equipped with a unique bi-modal trunk can be opened in two fashions. In addition to the ActiveHybrid 7, the 2010 BMW 7 Series also offers a new 544-horsepower V-12 engine and x-Drive all-wheel drive models.
