EPA fuel-economy estimates stand at 20 mpg city/28 mpg hwy and 23 mpg combined for the V50 2.4i, while the T5 R-Design AWD yields 18/26/21 mpg. Standard safety features include traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags, full-length head curtain airbags and whiplash-reducing head restraints. As a compact sport wagon, the V50 has nearly as much space as a compact SUV and accommodates five passengers.
