Practicality and fashion are featured among changes to within Volkswagen for 2009. Volkswagen returns to the minivan segment for 2009 for the first time since discontinuing the EuroVan. Essentially a rebadged, high-trimmed version of the minivans sold by Chrysler, the Volkswagen Routan is a seven-passenger family hauler. An all-new, smaller lower cost alternative to the Touareg, the 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan is a sharp compact crossover with a peppy turbocharged powerplant. Volkswagen's 2009 model range continues to boast greater family cargo holding prowess with the addition of the Jetta SportWagen. Naturally-aspirated and turbocharged gasoline engine as well as a TDI diesel is offered with the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen. Appealing to luxury performance drivers seeking one of the latest European styling trends, the Volkswagen CC is touted as a four-door sport coupe. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine and Volkswagen's VR6 is offered with the 2009 CC. The 2009 Volkswagen Passat was produced with a leaner list of available features. The VR6 engine, six-speed manual and 4Motion all-wheel drive is no longer offered on the Volkswagen flagship sedan.
