Primarily unchanged for 2009, the four-wheel drive Toyota Land Cruiser SUV is powered by a 5.7L V8 engine that cranks out 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. With luxurious seating for up to eight passengers, the Land Cruiser also offers superior off-road capability. A Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) stiffens or relaxes the front and rear anti-roll bars automatically as terrain changes to enhance off-road motoring. Other Toyota Land Cruiser standard features include leather upholstery, a four-zone climate control system, a 14-speaker audio system and parking sensors, while a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a navigation system and wood trim are optional. EPA estimates for fuel economy are 13 mpg city/18 mpg hwy. Standard safety features include the Star Safety System with stability and traction control, ABS and brake assist, as well as crawl control and hill start assist control, front dual-stage airbags, front-seat side airbags, back-seat side curtain airbags, and many others.
