Minimally changed for 2009, the Saab 9-7X is a midsize five-passenger SUV that is sporty yet highly refined. Equipped with all-wheel drive and a four-speed automatic transmission, the Saab 9-7X is powered by a 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine good for 285 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque or a 5.3L V8 engine that blasts out 300 hp and 321 lb-ft of torque and features GM's Active Fuel Management system to deactivate four of the cylinders if not needed during cruising. In addition, the Aero trim level is available, which is propelled by a 6.0L V8 engine worth 390 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Properly equipped, the Saab 9-7X can tow up to 6,600 pounds. All Saab 9-7Xs feature Bluetooth connectivity along with a well-equipped interior that offers up to 80.1 cubic feet of cargo space. Both the 4.2i and 5.3i trim levels offer a special Altitude Edition Package that includes DVD touch-screen navigation radio and special wheels. Saab 9-7X fuel economy stands at 14 mpg city/20 mpg hwy and 16 mpg in combined driving for the 4.2L I6 and 5.3L V8; however, for the Aero 6.0L V8 expect 12 mpg city/16 mpg hwy and 13 mpg in combined driving.
