See All Model YearsLearn MoreA number of mechanical enhancements are found with the 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S. More potent 3.6-liter and 3.8-liter flat-6 engines now feature direct fuel injection as well as two-piece crankcases. The six-speed manual transmission remains for 2009 but the five-speed Tiptronic S automatic gearbox has been dropped in favor of a new dual-clutch transmission. Promoting better fuel economy and performance, the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) is a seven-speed transmission. Like the 911 Carrera, engines for the 2009 Boxster S convertible and hardtop Cayman S also gain direct fuel injection resulting in a horsepower increase. Other upgrades made to the Porsche Cayman and Boxster include LED indicator lights and wider wheels for 2009. The Porsche Cayenne lineup now consists of five trim levels as an all-new Turbo S features on the second generation premium utility vehicle. The 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is a range-topping model powered by a 550-horsepower version of the 4.8-liter V-8 also found in the Cayenne S, GTS as well as the Turbo. A standard two-tone leather interior and well-bolstered seats are included inside the Cayenne Turbo S.
