Unchanged for 2009, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is a two-seat luxury roadster, with a retractable roof, that boasts Formula-1 technology and AMG performance, thus fitting easily into the supercar class. The SLR is powered by a hand-built supercharged 5.5L V8, perfectly balanced mid-engine, that pumps out an amazing 617 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with rear-wheel drive, the SLR comes with a five-speed automatic transmission that highlights a shift-it-yourself feature with steering-wheel-mounted paddles. According to Mercedes-Benz, the SLR can achieve a top speed of 206 mph and scale from zero to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings are an expected12 mpg city/16 mpg hwy.
