2009 model year changes

The basic Exige S and the exclusive Club Racer have been dropped from the line-up for 2009, which now consists of just two models: the Exige S240 and the new Exige S260. The S240 continues on unchanged from 2008, while the S260 features the same supercharged 1.8-liter inline four offered in the S 240, but tuned to put out 257 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.

Unchanged from last year, the 2009 Lotus Exige two-seat sports coupe is compact and built for the pure thrill of ultra-high-performance driving. As a rear-wheel-drive coupe, the Lotus Elise S 240 is motivated by a 1.8L inline four-cylinder engine streaming 240 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 150 mph. Adding lightness and power, the Lotus Exige S 260 touts a supercharged I4 engine unleashing 257 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. Performance of the Lotus Exige is enhanced by having an air inlet scoop integrated into the roof to direct more air to the intercooler.
