Essentially unchanged this year, the 4-door Lincoln MKZ midsize luxury sedan gets standard electronic stability control for 2009. The 2009 Lincoln MKZ is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that pumps out 263 hp and 249 lb-ft of torque with the mandatory six-speed automatic is transmission. While front-wheel drive is standard, the optional electronically controlled AWD system is capable of transferring power as needed from wheel to wheel. EPA fuel economy estimates rate the front-wheel-drive MKZ at 17 mpg city, 24 mpg hwy and 19 mpg combined; however, the AWD trim comes in a bit lower at 16 mpg city and 23 mpg hwy. Lincoln MKZ standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, front-seat side-impact airbags and full-length head curtain airbags that have a "roll fold" to press the airbag against the glass for additional protection. The MKZ is known as a classic family sedan, providing a smooth, stylish ride for up to five passengers and a long list of luxury features.
