New for 2009 on the Land Rover LR2, a luxury crossover SUV, are upgraded wheel finishes, a power socket in the trunk, front-seat map lights and a revised instrument panel. The all-wheel drive LR2 is powered by a 3.2L inline six-cylinder engine that produces 230 hp and 234 lb-ft of torque, paired to a mandatory six-speed automatic with a manual-shift mode. Land Rover LR2 standard features highlight Terrain Response, a capability that automatically adapts to changes in the engine, transmission, AWD, suspension, stability control and descent control systems, in order to enhance handling and comfort in varying terrains, depending on the driver-selected control knob setting. Fuel economy estimates, according to the EPA, are 15 mpg city/22 mpg hwy. The Land Rover L2 features a host of standard safety features comprising antilock disc brakes and a full array of airbags, including driver front, passenger front, side-body front, side-head front and side-head rear.
