With significant changes for 2009, the Lamborghini Gallardo, an all-wheel-drive exotic sports car, now features revised suspension with new mounts, bushings and better-ventilated braking system. In addition, various weight-saving measures have also been taken, such as lightening the gearbox, suspension, brakes, front drive shafts and differential housing, to reduce the weight by 44 pounds. Other updates this year can be viewed in Lamborghini Gallardo photos, including redesigned rear fascia and taillight area. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 coupe is powered by a mid-mounted 5.2L direct-injection V10 engine that packs a massive 553 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque paired to a standard six-speed manual transmission with gated metal shifter, while an automated six-speed sequential-shift manual transmission known as e-gear is optional. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 12 mpg city/20 mpg hwy. Standard safety equipment includes stability control, antilock brakes, and side airbags.
