For 2009, the Chrysler Aspen combines an electrified drivetrain with a HEMI V-8 engine for the brand's first production hybrid. Said to furnish up to 25 percent better fuel economy in city driving, the 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid operates with a special two-mode hybrid transmission co-developed by Chrysler in partnership with General Motors and BMW. Increased focus on safety is promoted with the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country. Included with an upgraded braking system, the Town & Country minivan line-up boasts available high-tech accident avoidance features such as Blind Spot Monitoring, Smartbeam headlights and Rear Cross Path system. Stow n' Go seating is now standard on all 2009 Chrysler Town & Country minivans. Several mechanical upgrades have been made to the 300 sedan including a more powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V-8. Chrysler has done away with several models for the 2009 model year. After just one year, all-wheel drive has been dropped from the Chrysler Sebring sedan. The Chrysler Pacifica and Crossfire have been dropped from the model line-up. The 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible has been dropped leaving only the original wagon body style to buyers of the unique retro-themed compact car.
