The 2009 Chevrolet Aveo received a revised, more fuel-efficient 4-cycliner engine that comes standard on all trim levels, as well as an updated 5-door hatchback (Aveo5) that's been upgraded inside and out. All models now have an auxiliary audio jack and OnStar as standard, and upgraded trim levels have satellite radio. The Chevrolet Aveo is available in sedan and 5-door hatchback body styles, both of which seat five passengers. All Aveos come with a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine with 106 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic. For 2009, the manual now includes a shift indicator light to help maximize fuel economy. The automatic-equipped 2009 Chevrolet Aveo gets an EPA rating of 25 mpg city/34 mpg hwy and 28 mpg combined. Front-seat side airbags are standard on all trim levels, and antilock brakes are optional on the LTs with the automatic transmission. Other Chevrolet Aveo standard features include variable-intermittent wipers and 15-inch alloy wheels are standard.
