Among the 2009 Buick Enclave improvements are a more powerful engine with direct injection and hands-free Bluetooth with steering wheel controls. Offering a choice of front- or all-wheel drive, the Enclave is motivated by a 3.6L V6 engine rated for 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired to a standard six-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel-drive Enclave is estimated by the EPA to get 17 mpg city/24 mpg hwy and 19 mpg in combined driving, while the all-wheel-drive trim reduces those numbers to 16/22/18. Properly equipped, the Enclave can tow up to 4,500 pounds. Buick Enclave safety features include stability control with anti-rollover logic, traction control, front-seat side airbags and three-row side curtain airbags. The Enclave's roomy interior can comfortably accommodate seven or eight occupants and includes standard tri-zone climate control as well as a Smart Slide second-row seat for easy access to the third row.
