2008 model year changes

For 2008, the high-performance Volvo S60 R has been discontinued, leaving the T5 as the top-of-the-line model, which this year is available only with a five-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. It now comes standard with leather seating, power sunroof, rearview mirror compass, satellite radio capability, and 17-inch Cassiopeia wheels. All trim levels--2.5T, 2.5T AWD, T5--offer new option packages that include premium sound systems.

Special features for 2008

The 2008 S60 is Volvo's entry into a highly competitive European midsize sedan market that includes Audi's A4, BMW's 3-Series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The design has been around since 2000, but Volvo has done much to keep it fresh, including an exterior styling update in 2007. With competitive pricing, ample standard equipment, premium options, and plenty of performance from either of its turbocharged engines, the Volvo S60 represents a safe, smart, distinctive alternative to any other midsize sedan on the road.
In addition to excellent safety features, the four door five passenger 2008 Volvo S60 features top-notch handling for a comfortable, luxurious ride. Engines range from a 208 horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged inline 5-cylinder to a 257 horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged inline 5-cylinder with 258 lbs.-ft of torque and a 5-speed automatic transmission with AWD. Comfort and convenience features are many and include full power accessories, dual zone climate control, heated lumbar seats, a trip computer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and ABS brakes.
