After boldly refreshing their product line with three all-new vehicles in 2007, the Saturn brand has replaced its two oldest remaining models for 2008. Gone is the Ion for 2007 as Saturn's latest compact entry-level vehicle is now the Astra. Derived directly from the Opel Astra sold in Europe, the new Saturn economy car is offered in a three-door or five-door hatchback powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. For 2008, the Saturn Vue has entered its second generation of design and engineering. The compact sport utility vehicle's refreshed, upscale look is accompanied by steady four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine power. The all-new 2008 Vue offered a Green Line hybrid for environmentally-minded drivers and a 257-horsepower Red Line version for performance-minded drivers. For 2008, the new base level version of the Saturn Aura sedan is the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine powered XE model. XM satellite radio was added as standard equipment to the Aura as well as the Sky roadster and Outlook crossover for 2008. The Saturn Relay minivan was dropped in 2008 in favor of the eight-passenger Outlook.
