2008 model year changes

Following a complete redesign in 2007, the 2008 S-Class adds a second AMG version--the 6.3L V8-powered S63. Sirius satellite radio is now standard on the S550s. On the S65 AMG, the panorama sunroof moves from options list to the standards list, as do the multicontour massaging rear seats and Distronic adaptive cruise control. As usual, Mercedes-Benz' big flagship luxury sedan features leading-edge technology such as "smart" massaging seats, a night-vision system, and an advanced cruise control system.

Special features for 2008

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been where traditional luxury and cutting-edge technology meet, and the 2008 offerings broaden the lineup with the addition of the 6.3L V8-powered S63 AMG. After the 2007 series redesign, today's S-Class sedans reign over a new, high-performance realm. Furthermore, the S-Class continues to build on its reputation for safety with an abundance of active and passive safety features. There is not, understandably, a plethora of choices for large, high-performance luxury sedans. With base prices spanning over $100,000, from the rear-wheel drive S550 at $86,700 up to the superb S65 AMG at $194,000, the S-Class offers an impressive range of choices in its segment.
The 2008 Mercedes-Benz S Class is an elegant and luxuriously equipped four door five passenger Luxury Sedan series. The Base S550 is equipped with a 382 horsepower 5.5-liter gas-powered V8 with a 7-speed automatic and RWD, while the top-of-the-line model gets a whopping 604 horsepower 6.0-liter gas-powered V12 with a 5-speed automatic, RWD and 738 lb.-ft of torque. When it comes to luxury amenities, the S Class features many, including heated leather lumbar seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a navigation system, a trip computer and more.
