2008 model year changes

Lotus adds two new models to its Exige lineup for 2008. Bolstering the solid performance of the supercharged 218-horsepower Exige S is the new 240-horsepower Exige S 240, as well as a limited-production Exige S Club Racer, with just 20 units slated for U.S. delivery. The S240 starts at $64,890, while the exclusive Club Racer slots in at $67,995. New additions to all Exige cars include a revised instrument cluster with added vehicle information, a softer dashboard, and an alarm with engine immobilizer. New color options have been added as well.

Special features for 2008

As a street-legal, race-worthy car that will get you nearly 30 mpg if you treat it right, the 2008 Lotus Exige is in a league of its own. Lightweight, powerful, agile, and extremely quick, the Exige allows for blistering driving in nearly any condition. The addition of the even more powerful S 240 only ups the ante in the track-toy game, while the Club Racer goes all in.

Exige S 240

Exige 2 Door Coupe
For 2008, the base model Lotus Exige has been discontinued, and the more powerful Exige S 240 makes its debut. The 2008 Lotus Exige S is a 2-seat, high-performance coupe that also comes in S 240 and S Club Racer trims. The Exige S sports a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine with 220 hp, while the Exige S 240 features a larger roof-mounted air scoop, which forces more air into the supercharger, resulting in 20 additional hp. However, Lotus estimates only a 0.1-second improvement in 0-60 time. The 240 also gets bigger brakes, bringing it to a stop with super-precision, and all Exiges get a new gauge cluster with trip computer for 2008. If you have ever dreamed about owning your own race car, the 2008 Lotus Exige S is an easy way to make your dreams come true and is perhaps the most popular "straight from the factory" performance car on sale in the US.
