For 2008, Lexus debuts a new high-end gasoline/electric hybrid sedan. Well-loaded for luxury comfort, the 2008 LS 600h L combines a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with two electric motors. Lexus also seeks to take on the BMW M3 and lower-ranked Mercedes-Benz AMG vehicles in 2008 with the debut of the IS F. A 405-horsepower version of the 5.0-liter V-8 has been shoe-horned into the aggressively-styled Lexus IS. The luxury sport utility flagship for Lexus is completely redone for 2008 powered by a 5.7-liter V-8 engine. The front end of the LX 570 adapts an appearance similar to Lexus' RX crossovers and LS sedan. Slightly larger compared to its predecessor, the 2008 Lexus LX 570 features enhanced construction with high-tensile steel, a new four-wheel drive system and 20-inch wheels. A face-lifted Lexus GS line includes an all-new GS 460 model propelled through a 4.6-liter V-8 generating 342 horsepower.
