2008 model year changes

The unique retro-styled Chrysler PT Cruiser enters 2008 with a few changes. Most noticeably, several trim levels have been dropped, including the potent 230-horsepower GT in hatchback guise and the Touring and GT in convertible form. Standard on the Limited models is the 180-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, and the engine is now optional on Touring models. The convertibles now include front seat side-impact air bags. The Sunset Boulevard Cruiser slots into the Street Cruiser series and is limited to 500 examples. New colors include Deep Water Blue Pearl, Melbourne Green, Silver Steel Metallic, Stone White, and Surf Blue Pearl.

Special features for 2008

The 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser wagon stands out in the market not just for its distinctive shape but also for its interior space and versatility, fuel efficiency, and for the impressive performance provided by the turbocharged engines offered in the Touring and Limited models. In convertible form, the PT Cruiser is one of the most practical and affordable ragtops available.
Available in Base, Touring and Limited trim levels, the 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser still maintains its retro throwback styling of yesteryear in its 2008 model. The PT Cruiser features either a 150 horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine or a 180 horsepower 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine in the top-of-the-line Limited. The Limited also features leather upholstery compared to the Base model’s cloth seats. Buyers have a choice between a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, depending on the model. Safety features include driver and passenger-side airbags.
