A carry-over from 2006, the S80 is a four-door five-passenger luxury sedan offered in one trim level, the 2.5T. The 2.5T features a 2.5-liter I5 engine that produces 208 horsepower linked to a five-speed automatic transmission. It’s also available in all-wheel-drive.Read more Read less
The 2007 Volvo S80 is a complete redesign, with an entirely new car now wearing the same name badge. Exterior styling is more aggressive, the model is 250 pounds lighter, the wheelbase is slightly longer, and a CD changer is now standard. The biggest news, however, is under the hood. Instead of being powered by a 208-horespower 2.5L five-cylinder, the S80 can be ordered with either a 3.2L inline-six with 235 horsepower and front-wheel drive or the 311-horsepower V8 and all-wheel drive.
Safety; smooth ride; quiet and lush interior; optional V8 power.
The redesigned 2007 Volvo S80 has enough luxury, power and refinement to make it a serious competitor in the mid-level luxury sedan segment. While the previous version of the S80 had a lot of Volvo 740 and 850 genetic material in its design, the new S80 looks stylish enough to be a viable choice for Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class shoppers to consider. Just like the German competition, the 2007 Volvo S80 is available with either an economical six-cylinder engine or a V8 engine. A full palette of standard and optional safety features enhance family appeal, and the S80s price undercuts many others in the class.
