2007 model year changes

Volkswagen's Eos is an all-new model for 2007, a convertible coupe that fills the five-year-old spot in VW's model line left by the well-recognized Cabrio. Instead of using a conventional fabric convertible top, the Eos has a sophisticated folding hardtop arrangement that retracts neatly into the trunk in just 25 seconds with the press of a button. What's more, a panoramic sunroof is integrated into the top to allow plenty of light even when the top is up, avoiding the claustrophobic feel that some soft-top convertibles have with the top up.

Special features for 2007

The four-cylinder Eos ranks as one of the best bargains among all convertibles, offering a very upscale interior for about the same price as cruise-oriented competitors like the Chrysler Sebring, Pontiac G6, and Toyota Solara convertibles, while the V6 Eos boasts a host of luxury features that matches premium-brand competitors--such as the Volvo C70--while costing substantially less.
New for 2207, the Eos is a newly designed four-seat touring car that was originally codenamed the Concept C and shares a platform with the Passat. The base model has 16" wheels and a 2.0Liter four-cylinder that puts out 200HP, in addition to the 3.2Liter V6 that puts out 250HP with 17" wheels. There is a unique retractable hardtop that stows easily with the push of a button, and pop-up roll bars behind the rear seats.
